Hambo Stamps are so cute!

Just recently I found a new (to me) stamp company called 'Hambo Stamps'. I haven't used digital stamping very much and thought I would just try. I also ordered some of their rubber stamps as well because rubber stamps of any kind are my favorite. Check out their website at http://www.hambostamps.com/ you will catch yourself giggling alot! Also....Monica was their representative and she was wonderful. I ordered my stamps late Friday night and had them by Monday!
On to the recipe....I have someone dear that I have wanted to give a 'Starbucks' card. This image is perfect for that.
Supplies: Cardstock and DSP: Stampin Up! It is hard to see but underneath the ribbon I stamped white ink by Colorbox and used white embossing powder by Ranger. The stamp I used was a background stamp by Stampa Rose, Inc. The adhesive is Sticky Tape, ribbon is from my stash....not sure what kind. Graphic image is by Hambo Stamps. Bling is from Michael's.
Thanks for taking time to look at my card. Any questions please ask!

Diecutting With Spellbinders 101

This week in class the project is an ornament. I made an ornament that I will post later....but in the mean-time I also made a card using this week's material. The teacher is Catherine Scanlon from http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com
My Mother left me a collection of Cameos.....so this graphic reminded me of her. The DSP is Presto Paper inked with Cameo Coral Classic Ink. from Stampin Up, Cameo Coral and Basic Black. The Cameo image itself is a graphic download from the class. I used the Beaded Ovals, Petite Ovals, #4 Label and Fancy Tags from Spellbinders. The adhesive is Sticky Tape and Pop-Dots.
I have entered this card in the challenge here: Card Patterns Challenge 152
Any questions please ask!

Diecutting With Spellbinders 101

It is fun to take classes now and then to keep my skills up or to learn a new technique or two.
This month I am taking the 'Die-cutting with Spellbinders 101, class with Catherine Scanion at http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/ . This card is entered in two challenges this week....to see some other beautiful ideas see http://casestudychallenge.blogspot.com/ and http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/
I used the largest of the small 'Oval' die set....and the second of smallest of the Grande set for the focal point. The graphic is a download from the class. I sprayed this with workable fixative then cut out a duplicate of the graphic onto vellum and cut out close to the edges of the image. This is held over the top of the base and then with a cotton ball and tweezers I inked over the top with 'Soft Suede' ink by Stampin Up! This is done while the small oval is still around the image. When removed from the die this leaves the white edge to contrast the ink. Once this dried I sprayed over the top with a permanent fixative. The cardstock is Pink Pirouette, White, Soft Suede Textured and Rasberry Tart DSP all Stampin Up! The ribbon is also Pink Pirouette. The adhesive is Glossy Accents, Sticky Strip, Glue Dots and Pop-Up Dots. I'm glad you took time to look at my card! Any questions please ask.

Mojo Monday 225

Thanks for taking time to look at my card! I love balloons so this was a great stamp-set for me. It is by Verve and is called 'Up Up And Away' like the card displays. Since pink is my favorite color of course I needed to use pink.... The cardstock and DSP are by Stampin' Up! The adhesive is 'Sticky Tape' and Pop-dots. The ribbon is black and white gingham and the wings on the sides of the balloon are stamped with the 'Time Flies' wings from Hampton Arts. The gloss over the balloon and wings is 'Crystal Effects' by Stampin Up! I made this for the Mojo Monday Challenge 225 at www.mojomonday.blogspot.com This is a great website to find new ideas and tips. Also they will challenge you every Monday to something new to keep you motivated. Craft on!

Day 9 of Clean & Simple Card Making

This technique is done by using white pigment ink on a black background and then heat-setting it. Then I used Water Color pencils to color in the detail. I used the lesson by Jennifer McGuire from Day 9 of Clean & Simple Card Making http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/cleansimple/
The teachers for today are Jennifer, Kristina Werner and Krystie Hersch.
No website for Krystie H. is available
Supplies: Cardstock is Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Pretty In Pink; Ink is Basic Black by SU and White by Color Box; Water Color Pencils are misc. companies; Ribbon is SU; Stickles are pink and green. I just used the Stickles at random. Thanks for looking at my blog. Any questions please ask!

Day 6 of Clean & Simple Card Making

This is day 6 of Clean & Simple Card Making http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/cleansimple/and I can't believe it! The time has passed so quickly. This is a card that was kind of fun to put together. You punch 6 circles and fold two sides so that when it is all done you have a flower shape!
The teachers for today are Jennifer McQuire, Kristina Werner and Julie Ebersole.
Supplies are....Paper: 'Kraft' and 'So Saffron' Cardstock and DSP by Stampin' Up!; 3" Circle Punch by EK Success; White Gel Pen by Ink Essentials; White Bakers Twine by Stampin' Up!
The 'Thanks' stamp is Stampin' Up!
Thanks for taking a look at my blog and come back again soon! Blessings.....

Day 5 of Clean & Simple Card Making

This class has been a refreshing change to what I have been doing since about November. Usually I am the one giving the instructions but I like it when I can sit back and take them from someone else! Also it gives me a chance to use up some of my odd and end papers and sometimes I am excited at how they turn out. I love to emboss papercrafts and have had a chance to do that in several projects this week. The 'pen' shapes in card number 2 did not show up that much on the background so I outline sketched them to make them stand out. Tim Holtz has the pen 'Nibs' in metal so I added them with a jump ring. They were perfect for this card.
If you haven't had a chance to check out these artists....do it now. They are fantastic!
Supplies: Cardstock is Stampin' Up!; Ink: Distress and Versamark; Embossing Powder Zing White; Stamps: Unknown; Misc. Tools: Heat Embossing Tool, Blending Foam, Round Corner Punch, Ribbon is Misc....bought at a store that was going out of business a few years ago. The Pen 'Nibs' are Tim Holtz. The marker is Sharpie. Any questions please ask!

Day 4 of Clean & Simple Card Making

This card class is such fun to take. If you aren't familiar with it you should check out the website at http://www.onlinecardclasses.com/cleansimple/teachers-guest-artists/ The teachers are Jennifer McQuire http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/ Kristina Werner http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ Julie Ebersole http://papertrufflez.typepad.com/ to name a few! This class also offers the expertise of many other artists as well.Supplies for this card:Stamps: Friendship Definition by Hero Arts; Ink: Stazon White and White Ink Essentials by Ranger; Dies: Hearts in a row and Leaf Cutout by Sizzix; Paper: Kraft Glassine by Tim Holtz and Designer Paper 'Sending Love' Specialty; Pearls and Pink Gems by Rubber Cafe; Adhesives: Glossy Accents and Sticky Tape. The flower is made from ribbon by Stampin Up! I love this technique! I made a paper circle the size I wanted....then used sticky tape to attach. Then the heat from the embossing tool makes the ribbon 'warp' to look like it is ruffled. Thanks for taking time to stop by....any questions please ask! Blessings....

Day 3 of Clean & Simple Card Making

Tone on tone is the topic for today's class. These cards took a bit of time to construct because the embellishments that are layered are six layers glued together. I used liquid glue on my samples but I think the next time I make this type of card I will use dry glue. It could speed the process.
Supplies: Cardstock: Pale Plum and Whisper White by Stampin Up. Die: Amana Circle by Memory Box; Ink: Versamark; Embossing Powder is American Crafts Zing White; Glue: Tombow; glitter pen. Any questions please ask! Check out these other websites for some great ideas! http://tamihartley.blogspot.com/2011/12/hero-arts-2012-catalog-blog-hop.html

Day 2 of Clean & Simple Card Making

This is my version of one of the Greeting Cards from Day 2 of Clean & Simple Card Making. The class this day focuses on flat cards. I usually layer my cards so this lesson is good for me!

Supplies: Cardstock: Stampin Up! Whisper White; Ink: Verifine Black; Brilliance Rocket Red; Stamps are by Stampin Up! Post-it-notes for masking. Any questions please ask! You will find lots of great ideas at these websites: http://papertrufflez.typepad.com/ http://mypapersecret.blogspot.com/2011/10/o-christmas-tree.html Thanks for taking time to stop by my blog. Comments are always welcome!

Day 1 of Clean & Simple Card Making

These are two cards from Day 1 of the Clean & Simple Card Classes by Kristina Werner and Maile Belles. Both cards are quite different from each other and very fun to make. It was actually harder for me to make the flat card than it was to make the layered look. I don't know why....I guess I tend to want to layer things more and it was a little out of the box from what I usually do. I really had to rely on a steady hand! Card 1:Recollections Card Stock Aqua w/envelope; Stamp: Hero Arts Flower Dot Background; Ink: Hero Arts Soft Pool Shadow Ink; Versamark Ink; White Gel PenEmbossing Powder: Americna Crafts Zing White; Punch: Stampin Up Mini Heart; Tools: Paper Cutter; Adhesive: Dimensionals by Stampin Up! Card 2: Cardstock: Whisper White by Stampin Up!; Markers: Copic....various colors; Ink: Verifine Black; Die: Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words; Stamps: 'Simply You' by Technique Tuesday and 'Everyday Sayings' by Hero Arts; For some great ideas stop by these websites! Jennifer, Kristina and Maile are behind just some of the inspiration on day 1 of this great class! http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/ http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ http://mailebelles.blogspot.com/

Tim Holtz 12 Tags Of Christmas Tag 3

Wow! The tags that Tim has created sure challenge the creative spark in anyone! This is my version on Tag 3 underneath and Tim's is on top. My tags were made the same....except that on the tag on the right I used various colors of regular Stickles (because I love Stickles)!

This is Tim's version of Tag 2 with mine beneath it. I didn't have the same supplies that are used by Tim....so I improvised. I did follow the same steps he used.

Holiday Card Boot Camp Day 8

I love this image by Mo Manning! Isn't she precious? I used glossy paper for this and so the image is shiny and alittle hard to see where the light reflects. I haven't used markers alot so this is rather new to me. It was fun to try and I plan to use this technique soon to get a little more practice! I have loved taking these classes and know I will feel really good when I send out these cards this year. The red snow-flakes are by Stampin Up. So is the card stock and ribbon. Try using markers yourself....you may surprise yourself!

Holiday Card Boot Camp Day 4

This card was great fun to make. The background image is from Hero Arts and is stamped on a clear acrylic card. The tree is heat embossed (white embossing powder) on blue cardstock. This is mounted on metalic tape and then adhered to the front of the acrylic card. The bling is assorted sizes and colors of 'jewel's.
Check out www.onlinecardclasses.com for great information!

Holiday Card Boot Camp Day 3

This card is made by stamping with green and then imbossing and inking the background (I used the Big-Shot). Another Christmas Card done! I skipped Day 2....but will come back to that one.
Once the ink was dry I used Christmas Red Stickles for the berries.
