'All Things Tim' Christmas Patchwork Swatches







These are pictures are of the swatches I sent in to our Host 'Mom' from my 'All Things Tim' group.
If you are much of a crafter I am sure you have heart of Tim Holtz.  He is an amazing artist and also a Designer for Ranger Inc.  If you care to look...check out www.timholtz.com and you will be amazed.
Currently I am part of this swap where you are assigned a certain size of a piece of a patchwork.  We were assigned 27 pieces....and mine was 2" X 3".  Finally I am done....and soon I will receive all of the other pieces and assemble them into a 12" X 12" work of art.  Maybe I should say....works of art.  How amazing to get mini masterpieces from all over the world and be able to look at it every year for many years to come.  I don't enter many swaps but this one is one I could not pass up. 

Supplies I used:
Grungepaper
Embossing folder (Tim Holtz - Alterations Brick Wall)
Gesso
Watercolor Paper
Stazon Ink (Black)
Distress Ink (Barn Red and Black Soot)
Stampin Up Chalks/Blender Pen
Glossy Accents
Embellishments (I used charms, brads, bristle Christmas trees, and anything else that looked good at the time....

411 SSC 200

Supplies: Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Not Quite Navy 'Patterns' DSP. Rub-ons: 'Fashion District'.Ribbon: 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain 'Crushed Curry'. Punch: 'Scallop Trim Border'.Embellishments: Trinket Key, Corduroy 'Summer Sun' and 'Daffodil Delight' brads.Misc: Sticky Pages, Heat Embossing tool, Sizzix Circle #2. This was fun because I tried a technique I hadn't ever tried before. Did you know that if you use a heat tool you can crumple the ribbon? It works best with satin.....but has some interesting effects on other kinds as well. Can't wait to try it on some other projects. Thanks for the challenge 411! To make a flower : Cut a circle of Sticky Pages (I used the Sizzix Circle die #2...the 2nd smallest). Take the 'red' side off. Cut about a 12" piece of ribbon. FM03 Challenge

Supplies : Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black. DSP 'Night & Day'. Dies: Spellbinders and Sizzix Circles #2. Adhesive: Sticky Strip, Sticky Pages. Brads: SU Antique Brads. Misc: SU Pretties. Ribbon: 5/8" Whisper White Satin. Punch: 1/2" Circle. Stamp: Warm Words. Tools: Embossing Tool, Needle Tool, Big Shot. Instructions : Cut Cardstock and DSP to desired sizes. Adhere a small piece of Sticky Pages in a squared. You will put it in the Big Shot to cut a circle. If you use the Sizzix Circles #2 die use next to the smallest circle. Pull the 'red' side off of the Sticky Pages circle. Cut a 15" piece of white satin ribbon. At one inch intervals....cut 'slots' in one side of ribbon. Using the uncut side start forming the ribbon around the circle from the outside in. Cut to desired length once your circle is complete. Using a needle tool....heat circle until ribbon changes characteristics. It will melt a little bit but makes a really pretty flower
