Hambo Stamps are so cute!

Just recently I found a new (to me) stamp company called 'Hambo Stamps'. I haven't used digital stamping very much and thought I would just try. I also ordered some of their rubber stamps as well because rubber stamps of any kind are my favorite. Check out their website at http://www.hambostamps.com/ you will catch yourself giggling alot! Also....Monica was their representative and she was wonderful. I ordered my stamps late Friday night and had them by Monday!
On to the recipe....I have someone dear that I have wanted to give a 'Starbucks' card. This image is perfect for that.
Supplies: Cardstock and DSP: Stampin Up! It is hard to see but underneath the ribbon I stamped white ink by Colorbox and used white embossing powder by Ranger. The stamp I used was a background stamp by Stampa Rose, Inc. The adhesive is Sticky Tape, ribbon is from my stash....not sure what kind. Graphic image is by Hambo Stamps. Bling is from Michael's.

Diecutting With Spellbinders 101

This week in class the project is an ornament. I made an ornament that I will post later....but in the mean-time I also made a card using this week's material. The teacher is Catherine Scanlon from http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com

My Mother left me a collection of Cameos.....so this graphic reminded me of her. The DSP is Presto Paper inked with Cameo Coral Classic Ink. from Stampin Up, Cameo Coral and Basic Black. The Cameo image itself is a graphic download from the class. I used the Beaded Ovals, Petite Ovals, #4 Label and Fancy Tags from Spellbinders. The adhesive is Sticky Tape and Pop-Dots.

Diecutting With Spellbinders 101

It is fun to take classes now and then to keep my skills up or to learn a new technique or two.
This month I am taking the 'Die-cutting with Spellbinders 101, class with Catherine Scanion at http://www.mycreativeclassroom.com/ . This card is entered in two challenges this week....to see some other beautiful ideas see http://casestudychallenge.blogspot.com/ and http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/

I used the largest of the small 'Oval' die set....and the second of smallest of the Grande set for the focal point. The graphic is a download from the class. I sprayed this with workable fixative then cut out a duplicate of the graphic onto vellum and cut out close to the edges of the image. This is held over the top of the base and then with a cotton ball and tweezers I inked over the top with 'Soft Suede' ink by Stampin Up! This is done while the small oval is still around the image. When removed from the die this leaves the white edge to contrast the ink. Once this dried I sprayed over the top with a permanent fixative. The cardstock is Pink Pirouette, White, Soft Suede Textured and Rasberry Tart DSP all Stampin Up! The ribbon is also Pink Pirouette. The adhesive is Glossy Accents, Sticky Strip, Glue Dots and Pop-Up Dots. I'm glad you took time to look at my card! Any questions please ask.

With Valentine's Day around the corner I had to pull out the 'love' stamps! This card is for the Shabby Tea Roo challenge #99 at www.theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com. The cardstock and DSP is by Stampin Up! The Glue and Glitter is by Rubber Cafe. I used a black and a white gel pen. The embellishments are black and also by Rubber Cafe. The ink is black Stazon. The tulle is white glittered. The stamp is by 'American Art Stamps' (Live, Laugh, Love) and the border stamp is by Stampin Up! 'Vintage Vogue'. Any questions please ask! Thanks for taking time to look at my card! I love balloons so this was a great stamp-set for me. It is by Verve and is called 'Up Up And Away' like the card displays. Since pink is my favorite color of course I needed to use pink.... The cardstock and DSP are by Stampin' Up! The adhesive is 'Sticky Tape' and Pop-dots. The ribbon is black and white gingham and the wings on the sides of the balloon are stamped with the 'Time Flies' wings from Hampton Arts. The gloss over the balloon and wings is 'Crystal Effects' by Stampin Up! I made this for the Mojo Monday Challenge 225 at www.mojomonday.blogspot.com This is a great website to find new ideas and tips. Day 9 of Clean & Simple Card Making

Day 5 of Clean & Simple Card Making

This class has been a refreshing change to what I have been doing since about November. Usually I am the one giving the instructions but I like it when I can sit back and take them from someone else! Also it gives me a chance to use up some of my odd and end papers and sometimes I am excited at how they turn out. I love to emboss papercrafts and have had a chance to do that in several projects this week. The 'pen' shapes in card number 2 did not show up that much on the background so I outline sketched them to make them stand out. Tim Holtz has the pen 'Nibs' in metal so I added them with a jump ring. They were perfect for this card.

Tone on tone is the topic for today's class. These cards took a bit of time to construct because the embellishments that are layered are six layers glued together. I used liquid glue on my samples but I think the next time I make this type of card I will use dry glue. It could speed the process.

Double Dutch Fold Card

I love this image by Mo Manning! Isn't she precious? I used glossy paper for this and so the image is shiny and alittle hard to see where the light reflects. I haven't used markers alot so this is rather new to me. It was fun to try and I plan to use this technique soon to get a little more practice! I have loved taking these classes and know I will feel really good when I send out these cards this year. The red snow-flakes are by Stampin Up. So is the card stock and ribbon. Try using markers yourself....you may surprise yourself!

This card was great fun to make. The background image is from Hero Arts and is stamped on a clear acrylic card. The tree is heat embossed (white embossing powder) on blue cardstock. This is mounted on metalic tape and then adhered to the front of the acrylic card. The bling is assorted sizes and colors of 'jewel's.

Happy Sunday! The sun is up.....and the trees are beautiful colors! What a pretty Autumn. I have had to be inside because of a surgery I had.....just now able to be on the computer a little bit. Today I am sharing a tag I handpainted last year.....then added Tim Holtz's new Tattered Pinecomes and Festive Greenery die cuts to the design recently. Don't you love the holidays coming up? I DO!!

Celebrating the products and techniques of Tim Holtz

I just love this challenge! This is the tag I made for Grungy Monday 20! The challenge is to use Distress Stickles....so this project has lots of bling.
Here are the instructions:
Supplies...
#8 tag, Distress stain (Walnut), Embossing Powder, Picket fence crackle paint Embossing Folder (Ornaments), Snow Flake Tim Holtz Die,Misc strand of muti-color miniature lights......they are plastic.,Misc Trim ( I got this at the fabric store), Distress Stickles, Tissue Tape, Vintage Lace Ribbon, Organza Ribbon (off-white color), Tim Holtz Stickers ('D', 'E', 'C'), Angel Mist 'Old Paper', Green Mica (large flakes)Mica (small sheet).
1. Color the tag with stain. Let it air dry or heat it. 2. Paint the tag with Crackle Paint slip-slod fashion. Let this dry. 3. Use various colors of Distress Stickles' and spread them out at random here and there. After this is dry you can rub off some of the Stickles.4. Add a tag, etc. toward the top right of the tag (I added an Anna Griffin tag turning it sideways and cutting it to match the edge of the tag). 5. Put this through the sizzix Big Shot using the embossing folder.
6. Using the blending tool shadow the outside edges of the tag. I also antiqued over the cracklepaint with distress ink here and where the tag is embossed. This brought out more interest.6. About 1/3 of the way up the tag I placed Tissue Tape across the width of it.
7. Use the Die 'Snow Flurries' (On The Edge) to cut a strip. Using a paper-cutter cut the straight edge back to make it the depth that you want.8. Glue the fabric trim down and also the strip below it slipping it just under the edge of the trim (flake side down) Let this dry. 9. Coat the die-cut with glue. 10. Sprinkle with green mica flakes. This makes the upside-down snowflakes look like Christmas tree branches. 11. Staple the string of lights across the width of the tag. 12. Use Distress Stickles (Old Paper) to coat the lights. This makes them look really vintage which was the effect I really wanted. 12. Make a flower out of ribbon. I used a light color and sticky paper underneath. Once it was dry I attached with wire. 13. Up at the top add various stickers. I used Tim Holtz's letters 'DEC' on the left. The tag I had placed to the right side had a christmas tree on it. here I used Stickles to fill in the trunk and the pot it is sitting in. 14. Glue large green mica flakes to shape of tree. 15. Once the tree is dry place a large sheet of Mica over the top. Add brads at the top and bottom of the Mica to old in place. 15. Add any other embellishments at this time. I added 'Old Paper' Distress Stickles to the petals of the flower. I found an old piece of lace and died it with 'Old Paper' distress ink. Tie the lace ribbon. Supplies: Stamps: Stampers Anonymous 'Clock' and 'In Dreams' Visual Artistry/'Numbers' by Hampton Arts/Misc. Butterfly/Isaiah 40:31 Stampabilities. Glossy Accents. Sheet Mica. Perfect Pearls powder/Mini-Misters. Perfect Pearls 'Copper'. Acrylic white paint. I didn't have a white Dabber so I dabbed white paint onto the stamp with a sponge. #8 Tag. Vintage Tag, Pins and 'Antique' brads by Stampin Up! Spinner, washers, small brads, and token are by Ideology 'Tim Holtz'. Linen Thread by SU across the tag and various ribbon and fiber (stained with mists) at the top. The flower is cut from various upholstery material with the Sizzix Scallop die. Trinkets at the bottom are added with 'Jumper Rings' and are something I bought at Michael's (not sure of the brand...but was in the jewelry making section). Instructions The basics are using acrylic paint to 'resist' ink as a base and add color to it with various colored inks. Stamp the tag with white acrylic paint at random. After it is dry spray the tag with desired 'Perfect Pearls' colors (Using the Mini-Mister). I fast-dried this with a heat embosser. Next stamp the 'Text' and 'Numbers' with black Perm Ink. Use 'Glossy Accents' over the numbers. Let dry overnight. Glue Mica over top of 'Text' with Glossy Accents. Next add embellishments here and there. The flower is cut using four layers of different materials. These are folded in half and intertwined then tacked in place with thread. Glue in place and fasten down with a spinner and brad at the center. I had alot of fun with this technique.....who wouldn't? Any questions please ask! Supplies:

Stamp Set: Birds and Roses by 'Sweet 'N Sassy'. Cardstock is Stampin Up! Sage Shadow, Very Vanilla and Creamy Caramel. The Designer Paper is Curio Carmella by Basicgrey. The ribbon is just a green grosgrain. The leaves are cut from a floral stem by Prima Marketing. Adhesives: Sticky Tape, Dimensionals and Dots by Stampin Up!. The Lace is Crochet Trim 'Victoria' (SU). Flowers are cut from the other side of the Designer Paper Curio Carmella. I used a 'Tim Holtz' Embossing folder (Music) just under the lace trim and below that is a border (Vanilla) cut with a Martha Stewart punch (Fan). I used the large Sizzix Scalloped Circle die for the shape of the card as well as Spellbinders Scalloped Edge and Circle. The Ink is SU Cameo Coral. This challenge is all about a round card! SSS112 Sketch Challenge

Supplies:Our Daily Bread Designs: 'Serve The Lord' Stamp Set। Crocheted Circle Die.Stampin' Up!: Chalk 'Pastels', Whisper White Cardstock, Vellum , and 'Dimensionals'। Ranger: 'Stickles' Glitter Glue Orange Peel, Baby Blue, Frosted Lace, Scattered Straw. Studio G Glitter Glue Yellow and Green. Stamp image on white cardstock. Run die with stamped image through die machine. I stamped my image two more times and layered one on another (so that is was three high). Use the chalks or water-color crayons to add color where desired. Then I randomly placed glitter-glue just where it was pleasing to my eye. On the stems, flowers, etc. A SU 'Build-a-brad' acrylic clear top exactly fit on top of the 'post-mark' part of the stamped image. The card base was embossed with a 'Tim Holtz' folder after spreading orange litter-glue randomly across the card. Also I used orange, blue and yellow stamp-pads across the middle of the front dragging color across card. FM07 Friday Mashup

This week's challenge is for anything feminine....ribbons, pearls, etc. Supplies are: Rose Red Cardstock (SU). The paper is unknown as it was stuck in a drawer for a long time and no company on the back. It is light pink, dark pink and some medium green shades. The largest butterfly is collaged by using Kelly Panocci Valentine Emphemera and then putting it through the Big Shot using an embossing folder. Versamark Ink and Clear Embossing Powder were heated and repeated creating the glossy finish to the large butterfly. Next I attached 'Pretties' pearls and the 'pin' and beads (Stampin Up). The second smaller butterfly is clear embossing ink on vellum with white embossing powder (using heat). Next I antiqued it with pink and green chalk and sprayed a small amount of 'Shimmer' over top. The butterfly small stamp is by Ellen Vener/Village Arts Press. The 'Vintage' stamp is by Hampton Art Stamps. The ribbon is 'Rose Red' by SU. Misc. Happy Mother's Day Card

Just want to say 'Happy Mother's Day to you all....thanks for taking time to stop by here. The instructions are a little late and I apologize for that...but here they are: Cut 'vanilla' card-stock to measure 10 1/2" by 5 1/2". Fold in half to make the card base. Cut a piece of DSP (I used Baha Breeze Patterns by Stampin Up) 5 1/4" by 5 1/4". Use a punch to round the corners on both the card base and the paper piece you just cut. Adhere the paper to the front of the card. This is the first layer. Next I cut a piece of 'vanilla' 5" by 5" and also one 4" by 4". These two pieces are both punched around the corner and edges with the Martha Stewart 'Daisy Fan' punches. Next I used a square die and cut the center out of each one.....to leave a 'window' (2 1/2" by 2 1/2"). Sponge edges with 'Baja Breeze' SU ink. These layers are both attached with pop-up dots. The next layer is a Spellbinders Die 'Pendant Tulips'. The center is cut out of this as well and the edges again sponged. I also sponged a little around the tulips. This is attached with pop-up dots. At this point you have 5 layers. The picture does not really show you the layers....but they are there. The center is a 2" square, another die from the Spellbinder's set and a 1 1/2" square. I sponged the edges of the top two layers and stamped 'MOM' before I attached but used the same layering. The pearls are Stampin Up and attached at various places around the card.

Supplies: Stamps: Sweet 'N Sassy Stamp Set 'New Creature'Cardstock: Stampin Up: Ballet Blue, Basic Black.DSP: Stampin Up: Pawsitively Prints.Misc Paper: Watercolor (for butterfly and text areas).Ribbon: Stampin Up: Pretty In Pink (do not have the exact name...only color).Dies: Spellbinders: Labels Four and Rose Blossom.Punches: Martha Stewart Deep Edge Daisy Fan and the small and medium Oval punch from SU.Chalk: Stampin Up Blending Pen.Misc: Pop-up Adhesive circles, pink rhinestones and sticky strip.

Directions: Attach black and blue layers to blue card base. Attach scallop punchout to back of next layer of DSP mounted on basic black. I attached this next using sticky strip. Next I created another layer of DSP and basic black. The ribbon is attached to the back only but runs around the front of this piece. This layer is attached with dimentionals. Next I cut out the label layers and ovals.The text 'friend' is stamped on before I cut out in order to center it. I attached the labels with pop-up dots on each layer and attached to the card. The smaller oval text is added using sticky strip and does not stick-up. The colors are chalked using SU blending pen. Note: Roses are chalked with die still attached to give the stencil effect. For cardstock dimensions please leave me a note and I will provide them for you.

The scripture is from Sweet'N Sassy Stamp set 'New Creature'.
Other Products used:
Stampin Up Cardstock: Pink Pir., White Textured, Vellum and Bridal Specialty Papers. Also Tim Holtz 'Seasonal'.
Ink: SU Soft Suede and Pink Pir.
Embellishments: Butterflies are Michaels G brand and Anna Griffin. The Rhinestones are 'Treasures By Shabby Chic'. Brads are SU Antique Brads and Butterfly 'Hot Off The Press'.
Misc. Supplies: Smooch spray, Sticky Strip, Embossing White Pearls (Joann's) and a sponge for antiquing.
Die Cuts are Kelly Panocci Valentine Emphemera.
Tools: Embossing Heat Tool, Sizzix Big Shot, Texture Plate, SU Heart Border and corner punches, Slot punch, SU Elegant Trio Stencils.

Directions:
Cut Cardstock to make card base 5 1/4 X 5 1/4" (from Pink Card Stock). Fold card in half.
Cut next layer from a darker color. I used Tim Holtz antique looking solid paper from the 'Seasonal' paper stack. Cut 5 X 5". Attach using sticky strip around edges. Next Cut white textured paper same size as previous layer 5 X 5". Stencil flower blossom and florish (to look like stem). Flower is pink ink and florish soft suede. Run this white piece through Sizzix using SU large Polka Dot Texture Plate. Using a sponge antique at random around the white cardstock. Tear the corners away and randomly curl at edges. Added an antique brad in the middle of the large flower. Cut a vellum strip to measure the width of the white card-stock. Tear along 'long' sides at random. Attach about 2/3 of the way down the card with vellum adhesive. Using a slot punch cut a hole on the right side of the card (middle of the vellum) to put ribbon through. Tie a knot placing it just to the left side of the slot. Emboss the ribbon with a heat gun. This will make it crinkle. Make a few random butterflies by heat embossing on vellum. I used chalk on the underside of the butterflies (pink and green)and then cut them out with paper snips. The rhinestones are used across the body of the butterflies. I added a sizzix leaf cut-out at the bottom and a butterfly brad. Next I attached the white piece to the base of the card. The corners are curled up using a little water. I cut a piece of pink CS and used the heart punch tool around the edges starting with the corner. Next I stamped the scripture verse on white CS and cut a rectangle to fit on the previous piece. This I adhered to the pink and then using a sponge antiqued around the edges. This is attached to the card-base with dimensionals. The Angels and roses are attached using dimensionals as well randomly over the card. Also....I added a spritz here and there of 'Smooch' Pearl spray.

This card is using Stampin Up 'Bliss' stamp, Very Vanilla and Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. The Card is hand-painted on water-color paper (by me). The Roses are Very Vanilla from SU and I also used their Scalloped Trim and Border punches. Ribbon is Rich Razzleberry and the embellishment pin is 'Tiny Trinkets'. FM03 Challenge

Supplies:
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black. DSP 'Night & Day'. Dies: Spellbinders and Sizzix Circles #2. Adhesive: Sticky Strip, Sticky Pages. Brads: SU Antique Brads. Misc: SU Pretties. Ribbon: 5/8" Whisper White Satin. Punch: 1/2" Circle. Stamp: Warm Words. Tools: Embossing Tool, Needle Tool, Big Shot.
Instructions: Cut Cardstock and DSP to desired sizes. Adhere a small piece of Sticky Pages in a squared. You will put it in the Big Shot to cut a circle. If you use the Sizzix Circles #2 die use next to the smallest circle. Pull the 'red' side off of the Sticky Pages circle. Cut a 15" piece of white satin ribbon. At one inch intervals....cut 'slots' in one side of ribbon. Using the uncut side start forming the ribbon around the circle from the outside in. Cut to desired length once your circle is complete. Using a needle tool....heat circle until ribbon changes characteristics. It will melt a little bit but makes a really pretty flower. Punch a hole in the middle of the flower and insert a brad, add a button or any embellishment of your choice. Attach all layers except do not attach to card base yet. Punch two small holes to one side of the flower to insert 'Pretties' Pin. Punch two holes at the top of the card for ribbon. Tie ribbon. Put 'Sticky Strip' on the back of the 'layers' and adhere to card base. Stamp with sentiment.

Supplies: Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Not Quite Navy 'Patterns' DSP. Rub-ons: 'Fashion District'.Ribbon: 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain 'Crushed Curry'. Punch: 'Scallop Trim Border'.Embellishments: Trinket Key, Corduroy 'Summer Sun' and 'Daffodil Delight' brads.Misc: Sticky Pages, Heat Embossing tool, Sizzix Circle #2.
This was fun because I tried a technique I hadn't ever tried before. Did you know that if you use a heat tool you can crumple the ribbon? It works best with satin.....but has some interesting effects on other kinds as well. Can't wait to try it on some other projects. Thanks for the challenge 411!
To make a flower: Cut a circle of Sticky Pages (I used the Sizzix Circle die #2...the 2nd smallest). Take the 'red' side off. Cut about a 12" piece of ribbon. Each inch cut a slice about 3/4 of the way across the ribbon leaving one side in-tact. Holding the cut side out....start circling the sticky piece from the outside in. When you get to the middle you may have to cut to fit. I love this technique.

Sunset Sympathy Card

These cards were inspired by Patty Bennett. I love the sunset look. They are fun to make and pretty too. I punched out a circle and barely stuck it to the front of the card. Then I sponged white cardstock with yellow and progressed up the card getting darker as I went. The top is sponged with rust. So....barely banana, yoyo yellow, mostly mustard and rust. Next remove the circle and complete the assembly of the card. Try it. You will like it!

Greeting Card Purse

This little greeting card purse is a hit with my customers and friends! I love it too. So many possibilities. Little embellishments can make a big difference in how a project looks too. One piece of DSP makes two purses including most of the card fronts. I added some bling bling.....everyone has to use bling bling! The envelopes needed are 3 1/8" X 3 1/8".

Before I know it another week or two has passed and it is hard to believe! A day wouldn't be right if I didn't craft a bit. This is a 'Thank You' card that I am going to share at a Demonstrator meeting tomorrow. We learn so much from each other.

We had a great meeting last night. I always enjoy the time with other demonstrators and we laugh and share ideas. It is not hard to leave the meeting feeling motivated. Thanks to all that participated and to June for sharing her very special 'pull-out' card.

March is already here! I blinked and February had already ended it seems. The older I get the faster time goes too. It has been a while since I have posted.....so I will catch you up on things. I fell a few weeks ago and bruised my ribs so instead of using my vacation for spring cleaning and fun stuff.....I was down for the week. Oh well. I was able to watch the WOW Stampin' Up! DVD over and over again! What great ideas. If you have a chance.....please watch it. You will love it.

Since spring is around the corner I made a few cards to remind me of the freshness and whimsy that a card can convey. This little bear makes me smile every time.

The holidays have been so busy. Now is a good time to review the year and decide if I am really going to keep my resolutions. I know for one thing I will still be crafting! Since Christmas has passed I have been working on a few Valentine cards. It is always nice to keep in touch!

Jolliest Time Of The Year

Snow snow everywhere....so make a Snowman! This little snowman is part of the current SU stamp set 'Jolliest Time Of The Year'. He fits in with the weather today. Cold!

This card is made with SU stamp set 'A Wish For Peace. I think it is very serene looking. It is a very versatile stamp as well. It is beautiful using water color crayons, chalks or embossing. The sky is the limit!

We will be making both of these cards in my week-end Workshops. What fun!

This week I am preparing for a Christmas Card 'Stamp A Stack' workshop on November 15th. I am really excited because most of the people attending don't have much experience at stamping and I will love sharing with them. Those that attend that are stamp-savy can probably teach me a thing or two! These are two cards we will be making.....along with 2-3 others. I will post the others as time permits this week.

This time of year is so special to me. Often I play Christmas music beginning in November (early November) and remember old friends and great times. I have had a few special friends that I have crafted with over the years and these are probably my most special memories. So...since the music is going....I made this Christmas card today. I don't know if the snapshot is clear enough but the verse is this:
'For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord'. Luke 2:11.

Isn't this little deer a cutie? I couldn't resist using this stamp! Christmas is such a great time of year and I love whimsy! It's not too early to start on your projects for Christmas. In fact sometimes I am working on Christmas projects in July. Who would know?

Fall Birthday Card For A Friend....

I love to use season appropriate colors for birthday greetings. Since October is so colorful outside when the leaves change.....what better than to use the same color theme in card making? This card uses brilliant orange, brown, green, vanilla and kraft (tan) colors. The front of the card is sewn with waxed linen thread and embellished with ribbon and die-cut flowers. Love it love it love it!

This is an idea for decorating paper bags. I love to paint and often paint on gift bags. This one is painted with acrylics. It doesn't take long to decorate or to dry. I have worked craft-shows in the past and these seem to sell well. I add tissue-paper and a little card. Voila!! This is also a great 'Trick Or Treat' bag.

I remember the many Thanksgivings my family celebrated through the years. Both of my Aunts hosted a glorious feast of turkey with all of the trimmings and Date-nut pudding!
